October 2025

Over this past fall I decided to upgrade to a PBM angle kit (Front drop knuckles, tie rods, and tension rod/ LCA combo), rear drop knuckles, and 350z axles. I’ve been using stock angle for years and it’s finally time to upgrade.
This isn’t a comprehensive dive into how the install was done just the pictures after it was finished.

📼 RAM — Pre 2015

The orginal plan for the car was to use a 555 knuckle, extended LCA, and a rack relocate service that C's Garage offered at the time — which would've been really cool — but it just never came to fruition.

💭 Thought Process — PBM Setup

LCA / Tension Rod Combo

Wanted to keep the car low while still having room for expansion with LCA adjustability if I decided to go a more aggressive route down the road

Front & Rear Drop Knuckles

Corrects front and rear geometry while having the option to add a rear dual caliper setup with no modifications — Z32 calipers bolt right up

Excellent parts support available in the event a replacement is needed

Why Not the S14 LCA / B-Knuckle Route?

A lot of people run the S14 LCA / modified S13 arm and B-Knuckle combo — but it didn't make sense in my case for keeping the car as low as I wanted

Shout out to my friend Brendon for taking care of this install for me, he's way smarter than me for setting up drift cars.

PBM Rear traction arms installed

I went ahead and had the the stock traction arms as well.  My homie recommended it, as I can keep my rear toe arms as my fixed point and use the front arms for my toe adjustment. Plus, these are stronger and will have less bushing play.

350z axles and custom stub shafts installed

These turned out so good!
My friend runs a CNC business so he was able to save me some money by making my stub shaft adapters for me. The plus side of the custom setup is that the stub shafts are built specifically for the axles to fit perfectly so I shouldn’t run into any weird axle to stub shaft mating issues.

💭 Why I Made the Switch to Z33 Axles

My stock DS axle was on its last leg — pretty sure it's been out of grease since 2014 or prior and was somehow still holding on, it was time to replace it

Next logical step to future proof any later power adds

Better parts availability going forward

Custom tension rod braces and power brace

While everything was out I had a power brace made to stiffen up the chassis, powder coat color was chosen to match the Nismo power brace.

This was much needed as we found one of the tension arms was bent and one of the bushings was blown out from abuse over the years. It’ll be nice having some more front end rigidity.
